Accessibility
Statement text updated September 8, 2026 · covers crinkle.dev and the Crinkle beta app
The short version: we aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA, we build with keyboards, screen readers, and reduced motion in mind, and when something falls short we want to hear about it and fix it: support@crinkle.dev.
Our target
We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA for this website, and we apply the same standard as the goal for the Crinkle app as it matures through beta.
This is an accessibility target, not a certification or a claim of full conformance. We have not completed a comprehensive evaluation of the current website and desktop app with assistive technologies.
Design measures
- Motion is optional. The site includes reduced-motion styles and script behavior intended to respect the system "reduce motion" setting. Coverage of all animated states has not been fully audited.
- No JavaScript, no problem. Policy text and core marketing content are available without scripts. Sign-in, account data, and billing actions require JavaScript.
- Semantic structure. Pages use real headings, landmarks, lists, and labels so assistive technology can navigate them; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
- Contrast. AA contrast is a design target; a complete contrast audit of all states and themes is still needed.
- Keyboard access. Native links, buttons, and labeled inputs support keyboard operation. Complete keyboard and focus testing across account and payment flows is still needed.
- In the app, appearance options include light and dark themes and multiple color styles, and plain-language reporting is a design principle throughout.
Known limitations
Honesty over polish, here as everywhere:
- The animated demonstrations (team conversation, run telemetry) are illustrative visuals; their full text is available to assistive technology, but the "typing" presentation itself is visual by nature.
- The Crinkle app is beta software under heavy development; we have not yet completed a full accessibility audit of every screen, and some complex views (diff review, live activity feeds) still need work for screen-reader users. These limitations remain relevant to Free and paid users.
Third-party sign-in and payment pages, and websites generated by the app, are separate interfaces. This statement does not certify their accessibility.
Compatibility
The website is built to work with current versions of major browsers and their built-in and common assistive technologies. Compatibility across browser and assistive-technology combinations has not been comprehensively tested.
Feedback and enforcement
If you hit a barrier on the site or in the app, email support@crinkle.dev with the page or screen, what went wrong, and optionally your browser or app version and assistive technology. You can also request help accessing information or completing an account or billing task; we treat accessibility reports like bug reports, which is to say seriously. If something on the site or in the app is blocking you from buying, cancelling, or getting support, say so in the message and we will complete the task with you by email while we fix the underlying problem.
